ZETEC's X-Probe®:
Proven technology for fast, "One-Pass"
inspections
For nuclear power
plant steam generator tubes, ZETEC's
X-Probe design uses a combination of
bobbin and array technologies to provide
quick, simple, and comprehensive "One-Pass"
inspections. Inspection strategies using
the more efficient X-Probe technique
have successfully proven to replace
the need for the conventional bobbin
with follow up diagnostic MRPC testing
approach. On new steam generators, X-Probes
are extremely effective for establishing
a more conclusive pre-service inspection
baseline which can be used for future
inspection comparisons and better plant
condition monitoring.
The evolution of
the eddy current probe has culminated
in the advanced X-Probe® array. The
X-Probe incorporates multiple bracelets
of pancake coils in a dense pattern
and takes advantage of sophisticated
multiplexing techniques within the head
of the probe. Teamed with advanced ZETEC
software and instrumentation, the X-Probe
delivers a high-speed and high-quality
inspection. Already deployed throughout
the world, the X-Probe is available
in a variety of standard sizes and configurations.
