For the inspection of ferromagnetic tubing such as carbon steel and ferritic stainless, as well as for the detection and sizing of wall thinning, RFT (remote field technique) probes provide the best solution. Magnetic flux leakage (MFL) probes can be used for the inspection of aluminium finned carbon steel tubes as well as circumferential crack detection and wall loss measurements. Both RFT and MFL probes are available in a variety of diameters from 9mm (.350") to 51mm (2") and greater.
