Inspiration, Innovation and
Cooperation
Sonatest and Tecnitest Ingenieros
S.L formed the joint venture AtlantisNDE in July
2004 to develop engineering solutions for specific
NDT applications in the automotive, aerospace and
petrochemical industries.
From its base in Madrid, AtlantisNDE can take advantage
of Sonatest NDE 45 years of NDE design and production
experience and Tecnitest proven ability in systems
integration and software design. We are also able
to make use of Sonatest’s established global distributor
network, making AtlantisNDE a global competitor
from the start.

Atlantis’ objective is to develop the most innovative
and effective solutions to suit our individual customer’s
needs and provide excellent technical support.
At Atlantis we do not limit ourselves to just one
industry or technology and both understand offer
many methods of non-destructive testing. By paying
special attention to the reliability, cost and time
optimisation of the non-destructive inspection,
issues we believe our customers care about, Atlantis
can provide superior solutions to NDT problems.
As the fusion of one of the world’s leading manufacturers
of NDE instrumentation with a highly focused design
and integration specialist Atlantis NDE is able
to provide advanced and innovative inspection solutions.

UT Scanning Systems
The advantage of the ultrasonic
testing systems Sonatest offers is the flexibility
and individual nature of bespoke design, providing
customers with an exact match for their requirements
and creating a tailor made automated solution to
inspection needs. Some users of manual methods of
ultrasonic testing may find they are less reliable
than automatic inspections, a lack of permanent
automatic records affects quality control and higher
levels of skill and continuous attention required
of the operator can lead to mistakes in inspection.
Sonatest can address all these issues with their
range of ultrasonic testing equipment.
Nodularity
Nodularity control is an extended practice in cast
iron plants manufacturing structural components,
aiming to measure the relative percentages of grey
and ductile iron into a given part. Currently, the
general practice is a manual or automatic spot test
with oil coupling, but a much higher efficiency
and lower overall process cost is achieved by using
dry coupling, as performed by the Autoscan 2400.
Cyclops
CYCLOPS is an automatic in-line system for the inspection
and evaluation of spot welds via ultrasound, using
artificial vision for position control.
