The Dryscan series 410D Ultrasonic Flaw
Detectors – Optimised for low frequency
through transmission inspection of composite
materials such as honeycomb materials using
dry (rubber) coupled wheel or spot transducers. |

The Rapidscan 2 and 3D systems which
provide fast array based scanning of composite
panels and structures. |

 |
The QMI Airscan systems which provide
through transmission inspection of structures
using no contact – The atmosphere is used
as a couplant. |

The ZETEC Sondicator S-21 and MIZ-21SR
(Combined Eddy current and Bond Tester version)
Ultrasonic Bond tester Instruments are useful
for detecting skin to core dis-bonding and
core damage by a single side inspection
approach. |
For Aluminium Aircraft there are a number of appropriate
technologies – all the above techniques are also
likely to be applicable. In addition Eddy current
equipment such as the ZETEC MIZ-21B can be used,
both for crack detection and for conductivity measurement,
which is particularly used for assessment of correct
heat treatment in Aluminium Alloys.
